No Fly Zone

We compost our food in a couple bins in the kitchen. Worms break down the food and not decomposition. However, any time it gets over 60 F inside we have a terrible time with fruit flies all over the window. Since the weather has gotten colder all the flies are gone. It's much nicer.

Methinks your 20F must be the same refreshing air mass that I'm experiencing in NH. In fact, it MUST be--because this air mass also contains the very same full moon to which you have referred. In regard to the fruit fly problem, I suggest you stock your place with dragon flies, they'll help to control the fruit fly population. I'm not sure how you would control the dragon fly population, but they are almost big enough to be BB gun targets, I'd recommend a scope sight.
